Women on Mission

Our desire is to learn about missions and pray for missionaries in our state, country, and around the world. We give to and educate the church on all the different mission offerings through the Cooperative Program. We not only participate in missions by giving to them, but we also partake in missions by sharing Christ. Women on Mission aim to live out missions through projects, ministries, prayer, giving, and studying the word of God.

Sisterhood Groups of WMU
Find a group you can serve with

We have four sisterhood groups at Sylvia. The sisterhood groups focus on finding needs within our church and community, then meeting those needs through different avenues. See the details for each of our sisterhood groups below.

Moriah

This sisterhood focuses on making blankets for and ministering to shut-ins and those who are sick. This group also makes blankets for newborn children.

Phoebe

This sisterhood focuses on ministering to the teachers and staff at our local schools. When they aren't providing school supplies and encouragement, they are praying for the schools. They also assist with preparing food for our youth on Wednesdays.

Mary/Martha

This sisterhood focuses on loving the homeless community in Dickson. They assist with the making of blankets and visitations with shut-ins.

Deborah

This sisterhood focuses on loving those who have recently lost loved ones. They do this by intentionally reaching out and organizing meals to be delivered to each family.
